Bio

Dr. Schaeffer’s doctoral coursework at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, her master’s
coursework at Alvernia University and her vocational experience through OneHope (nine years),
Alvernia University (4 years), Seton Hill University (2 years), and Point Park University (1 year)
align well with the ILO’s for MISS 7023 - Foundations of Research Methods.

Her doctoral program included five core research courses in quantitative and qualitative research.
These courses emphasized research methods, research design and evaluation, data analysis,
research ethics, and the presentation of research. Additionally, her doctoral dissertation utilized a
quantitative content analysis to investigate the treatment of non-profit and for-profit
organizations in local television news broadcasts. Her master’s program included two core
research courses. These courses emphasized research methods, research design and evaluation,
data analysis, research ethics, and the presentation of research.

At OneHope she serves as a senior researcher on the Training & Research Initiatives team where
she develops quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to support the design and
assessment of new and existing scripture engagement and other ministry programs – including
digital programs. Additionally, implement or oversee the implementation of research programs
including strategy, instrument development, training, analysis, and report writing, and she
develops and shares popularized research both internally and externally. Specific flagship
research projects that she has worked on during the past nine years at OneHope include: Global
Youth Culture project (8,300 teens from 20 countries represented), a nationwide explorative
project on the identity and organization of gospel city movements in the United States, and the
evaluation of OneHope and John Maxwell’s teen leadership programs, Lead Today, in Ghana,
Cameroon and Latin America. At Alvernia University, Seton Hill University, and Point Park
University she was instrumental in the design and implementation of direct and indirect learning
and student satisfaction assessment measures and she served on these universities’ 10-year
Middle States accreditation standards review team.
