Bio

Kimberly Cook earned her BSN degree from the University of Florida and her MSN degree from Jacksonville University. Kim has over 15 years of experience as a registered nurse in Florida. She began her nursing career at Lakeland Regional Health, working on an inpatient postoperative surgical care unit. She has also worked on the pediatric inpatient floor at Shriners Hospital in Tampa and the Ambulatory Surgery Unit at Lakeland Regional Health. Kim started her nurse educator career as a clinical and simulation lab instructor at Southeastern University in August 2017. Kim will be teaching Heath Assessment and Med Surg 1 to first and second semester nursing students.

Kim and her husband Bill have three daughters. They have shown her in more ways than one how to be a better mom, teacher and person. She and her family are active members of First Presbyterian Church, where their children have been active members of the youth group and choir. She enjoys running, playing piano, volunteering at local organizations, and attending sporting events with her family in her time away from work.

Throughout Kim’s life, God has been teaching her to trust Him in His perfect timing and plans for her. She is thankful for the opportunities God has given her to serve – in her teaching, church and as a wife and mother. Mathew 22:37 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind, this is the first and greatest commandment.” Her goal in demonstrating the truth of this verse in her life is to be an example to those around her, especially her students.
