Bio

Kaitlyn S. Brett has worked in higher education since graduating from Southeastern University in 2020. She serves as the Director of the School of Honors and as a Reference and Instruction Librarian. She has the joy of teaching Honors courses, including Introduction to Honors, Honors Professional Communication, and Honors Seminar.

While earning her undergraduate degree at Southeastern University, Professor Brett was a member of Alpha Chi, Kappa Mu Epsilon, and Sigma Chi Pi. Additionally, she worked for the School of Unrestricted Education, served as a teaching assistant for the College of Natural & Health Sciences and the Department of Communication, and was a student leader in the School of Honors.

Her research interests include examining how to integrate storytelling into Honors student resilience and how storytelling connects to the academic experience of Honors students. Because of the positive impact the faculty and staff of Southeastern had on her life, Professor Brett is passionate about helping students find their voice and discover their calling.
