Endowed Scholarships – Advancement

Southeastern University is grateful for the generous support of donors who contribute to student success through endowed scholarships. Endowed scholarships provide funds to students to help supplement the cost of their education. These scholarships vary based on requirements, award amount, and number of awards.

The endowed scholarship application is open February 1 – March 1 each year. Students may review the available scholarships and requirements below. After selecting up to 5 scholarships for which they qualify, students may complete the endowed scholarship application during the open application window.

Endowed Scholarships

Note: Scholarships may pertain to a specific classification of student.

Drey Crowell Memorial Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a junior or senior student who has a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Dwight Redus Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student with demonstrated financial need, who is actively pursuing a degree and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Students actively pursuing a ministry degree will receive first preference, followed by all other students who meet financial need and GPA criteria. 

Lucile Dabney Clark Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a ministerial student and/or spouse who demonstrates high leadership skills and has a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Robert and Nita Herron Sr. Endowed Scholarship

This fund will be awarded to a student who is performing at their best academic ability, is of high character, and is in good standing at SEU. 

The Franklin (Frank) Delano Collins and Patricia “Ann” Johnson Collins Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student with financial need who maintains a 2.5 GPA or higher. Priority consideration will be given to qualifying students who actively attend Dothan First Assembly of God Church in Dothan, Alabama.

The Joseph “Henry” Johnson Sr., and Susie “Ethel” Crosby Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student with financial need that maintains a 2.5 GPA or higher. Priority consideration will be given to qualifying students who actively attend Dothan First Assembly of God Church in Dothan, Alabama.

Southeastern Alumni Scholarship

This fund will be awarded to students with a 2.5 GPA or higher who are dependent children of SEU graduates.

Assemblies of God Pastors, Children of, or Attendees of

Arthur D. Heilman, Sr. Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student who has demonstrated financial need and is actively pursuing a degree with a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Burnett Family Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student who has a demonstrated financial need, is of good character, and who is in good standing with SEU as defined by rules or by-laws. The student must be a participant or member of the following Florida-based churches or ministries: Rich Valley Church (AG) in Valrico; Freedom Church (First AG) in Tallahassee; Heart of the Father Ministry in Lakeland; Strong Tower Church, in Lakeland; or Parker Street Ministries in Lakeland. 

A narrative essay is required documenting evidence of these qualifications and must be reviewed and signed by the pastor/director of the participating church/ministry listed in criteria above and submitted to SEU’s scholarship committee.

Cecil Wiggins Endowed Scholarship Fund 

This fund will be awarded to a Florida resident with a 2.5 GPA or higher pursuing a ministry degree that will lead to credentialing with the Assemblies of God. Priority will be given to students who attend Evangel Temple in Jacksonville, Florida.

Harry and Irma Wolf Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to sophomores or above who maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher, and are active members of an Assemblies of God church.

Karl Strader Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a student who has a 2.0 GPA or higher and is a member of Ignited Church.

Pastor’s Kid Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time incoming freshman who is a dependent of an Assemblies of God ordained minister, missionary, or staff member serving within the geographical area of Pen Florida Section 10 or the Florida Multicultural district. The parent must have served a minimum of five consecutive years prior to the date of scholarship application. Recipient must be under 21 and have a 2.5 GPA or higher. 

A 500 word essay on one of the following topics is required.

  • What unique quality do you possess that would allow you to continue to pursue your education at SEU?
  • What achievement, experience, interest or activity has had a powerful effect on you?
  • How has your culture, family, history or environment made you the unique person you are today?

Completed essays should be emailed to Mike Yohe at meyohe@seu.edu with the subject line “Pastor’s Kid Endowed Scholarship Essay.”

Robert and Margaret Gatlin Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a junior or senior who is a ministry major, is actively involved in student ministry, and is from the West Florida District of the Assemblies of God.

The Coleman Tennis Scholarship

This fund will be awarded to prospective or current student-athletes of the men’s tennis team. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be in good standing with the University, have a 2.5 GPA or higher, and be actively pursuing a degree.

Closshey Family Endowment 

This fund will be awarded to students who are majoring in music, graphic arts, or marketing with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Roy J. and Iris A. Kasmar Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a student with financial need who is a freshman or transfer student majoring in business, and has a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Dr. Raffia Elizabeth Baz Smith Scholarship to the Glory of God 

This fund is to be used toward tuition and books for students majoring in elementary education or missional ministries. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and must be planning to enter the field of elementary education or foreign missions.

Founder’s Fund Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a student with a 2.5 GPA or higher who is intending to serve as a minister, missionary, or educator overseas.

Alfred and Hulda Anderson Memorial Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a junior or senior with a 2.75 GPA or higher who has a demonstrated financial need.

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student who has a demonstrated financial need, is of good character, and who is in good standing with SEU as defined by rules or by-laws. Constance Lang Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund 

This fund will be awarded to sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrated financial need. Priority consideration will be given to Music majors.

Ella Money Estate 

This fund will be awarded to students with a 2.0 GPA or higher with a demonstrated financial need. 

Foreign Nationals Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to foreign national students who are seeking an undergraduate degree. The student must be enrolled full-time and demonstrate financial need. First-year students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, and a 3.0 GPA in subsequent years.

Glenn S. Kraiss Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to students with a 2.5 GPA or higher who have significant financial need as a result of the absence of parental support or students who have been in the foster care system.

International Students Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will provide financial support to full-time or part-time students who are not U.S. citizens. It is available to undergraduate and graduate students, including incoming freshmen. Applicants must have a score of 500+ on the TOEFL and continue to show satisfactory progress toward degree completion.

This scholarship is renewable for up to five consecutive years.

Koinonia of Ruskin Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student with a 2.5 GPA or higher and demonstrated financial need. Priority consideration will be given to a single parent with a child under the age of 18 living with them.

Myrtle E. Bush Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a senior ministry major with a 2.5 or higher GPA and a demonstrated financial need.

This fund will be awarded to a student with financial need who is a freshman or transfer student majoring in Business with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Student Work-Study Supplemental Assistance Endowed Fund 

This fund will be awarded to students who are receiving work study financial assistance as a part of their financial aid package. Students must be enrolled full-time with demonstrated financial need.

Thomas Cross Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior ministry major with a 2.0 GPA or higher and demonstrated financial need.

Glenn S. Kraiss Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to students with a 2.5 GPA or above who have significant need due to absence of parental support or have been in the foster care system.

Graper Family Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student actively pursuing a ministry curriculum including (but not limited to) pastoral studies, domestic missions work, foreign missions work, or any type of full-time ministry work. The student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and may be pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies. Once a student has been selected for the Graper Family Scholarship they will be eligible for preferential consideration for additional scholarship until graduation, provided they continue to meet eligibility criteria. A student may receive this fund for a maximum of 5 years.

This fund will provide financial support to full-time or part-time students who are not US citizens. It is available to undergraduate and graduate students, including incoming freshmen. Applicants must have a score of 500+ on the TOEFL and continue to show satisfactory progress towards degree completion. This scholarship is renewable for up to five consecutive years.

Foreign Nationals Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to foreign national students who are seeking an undergraduate degree. The student must be enrolled full-time and demonstrate financial need. First-year students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, and a 3.0 GPA in subsequent years.

This fund will provide financial support to full-time or part-time students who are not US citizens. It is available to undergraduate and graduate students, including incoming freshmen. Reach One Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate international student who demonstrates academic achievement, English proficiency, and a true financial need. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher each semester.

Arthur D. Heilman, Sr. Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to full-time students with a demonstrated financial need who are actively pursuing a degree and maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA.

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student who has a demonstrated financial need, is of good character, and who is in good standing with SEU as defined by rules or by-laws. Crossroads Ministries Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a Florida resident with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Priority consideration will be given to students who were homeschooled, attended a private Christian school, or who are from Hardee County.

Cyril Homer Endowed Scholarship

This fund will be awarded to a junior or senior ministerial or missions major with a 3.0 GPA or higher who demonstrates qualities that indicate a high degree of spiritual leadership and moral strength.

Foster Bolin Memorial Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a senior ministry major who shows promise of successfully engaging in full-time Gospel ministry.

Founder’s Fund Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a student with a 2.5 GPA or higher who is intending to serve as a minister, missionary, or educator overseas.

Glory A. McMillan Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to sophomore, junior, and senior ministerial students who have maintained a 2.0 GPA or higher. Priority consideration will be given to students who reside in Columbus, Georgia.

Graper Family Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time student actively pursuing a ministry curriculum including (but not limited to) pastoral studies, domestic missions work, foreign missions work, or any type of full-time ministry work. Student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This fund may be awarded to a student pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies. Once a student has been selected for the Graper Family Scholarship they will be eligible for preferential consideration for additional scholarship until graduation, provided they continue to meet eligibility criteria. A student may receive this fund for a maximum of 5 years.

Janine F. and Jeffrey B. Spear Endowed Scholarship Fund 

This fund will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who is majoring in a ministry degree with a demonstrated, unmet financial need.

Minnie B. Seward Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a student with a 3.5 GPA or higher with an interest in apologetics. Applicants must submit a paper on the subject of apologetics.

Myrtle E. Bush Endowed Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to a senior ministry major with a 2.5 or higher GPA and a demonstrated financial need.

Reverend Thomas “Tommy” E. Vaughn Scholarship 

This fund will be awarded to full-time students pursuing a degree in pastoral ministries, missions, or other ministry-related degrees. Applicants must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate financial need. Priority consideration will be given to students who have completed their GED certification for their high school equivalency diploma.

This fund is awarded to full-time students with demonstrated financial need who are actively pursuing a degree in the field of social work, and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
