Your first year sets the foundation for your entire college experience — and we’re here to support you as you navigate this new and exciting time of your life. That’s why we’ve built a team focused on helping you find your people and your place. Through small groups and shared experiences, we hope you’ll build lasting community and feel a deeper sense of belonging as you make SEU your home.
On the very first day you get to campus, we celebrate! This is a time to socialize and meet friends. There will be dessert (of course), games, music, and a ton of new faces to meet. Families are welcome to join.
In these small groups hosted by FYE Team members, you will have the space to connect with other people in the same season of life as you. You will make the most of your first year and build lasting relationships.
This is a time dedicated for you to get familiar with campus. A FYE student leader will lead you and a group of students around campus to find your classes to allow a more seamless first day.
We believe community happens in many different ways – over a shared meal isn’t a bad place to start! Come meet other first years, the FYE team, and other SEU community members for dinner from a local lakeland restaurant on us to hopefully help you feel more at home.
This event exists to help you find a church home in the Lakeland area. We will go to a few different services together, host a time for you to meet with the pastoral staff, have lunch, and help you plug in if you’d like to return.
A scavenger hunt throughout Lakeland on a Saturday! An event to help students build community and get more familiar with the area.
This event is for the daring! Exactly as it sounds – Join in on a mystery bus ride to a nearby city full of great surprises not disclosed until arrival!
