Dr. Jeremy Denton returns to his alma mater, Southeastern University, where he majored in education with an emphasis on secondary mathematics. He received the 2003 Most Outstanding Secondary Mathematics Education Award. During the 2002 baseball season, Dr. Denton led SEU’s baseball team with the highest batting average and was named Defensive Player of the Year as the team’s starting centerfielder.
Dr. Denton has been a passionate educator of math since 2003. He hopes that his love of teaching and mathematics is contagious, and he never tires of engaging the minds of students and watching them tap into their God-given potential. He spent eight years at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Florida. While at Lincoln, he served as a mentor teacher for beginning teachers, was elected chairperson for the School Advisory Council and was awarded the 2014 Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Denton has been teaching general education mathematics courses at SEU since 2015 and currently serves as the Chair for the Department of Mathematics. In addition to teaching math courses, Dr. Denton teaches undergraduate and graduate level education courses. He also serves on the assessment committee, foundational core committee, and the academic operations committee. Outside of teaching, Dr. Denton enjoys playing golf and spending time with his beautiful wife and eight children.
